Our Impact
Clean Market Group Limited, trading as Clean Market, is dedicated to helping business decarbonise.
As we grow, our aim is to invest in cleaner facilities, processes and technology to achieve real zero.
Base year: 1st April 2025 to 1st April 2026
Status
Clean Market Group Limited is a service business headquartered in the United Kingdom.
We do not manufacture and therefore do not purchase or utilise raw materials, produce emissions through manufacturing, or require a physical supply chain.
Data and application hosting:
100% renewable energy
Software application efficiency:
clean-market.co runs on a proprietary web application developed in .NET. The application is highly efficient, as demonstrated by the website homepage producing 0.03g of CO2 per view - currently cleaner than 97% of websites tested worldwide.
Business IT equipment:
We purchase reconditioned hardware where possible, including laptops, monitors, tablets and desktop hardware. Our printers use refillable ink resevoirs rather than disposable cartridges.
Business travel:
We plan to invest in EV fleet vehicles, and are targeting the 3rd quarter of 2026 to switchover. We use the train for business travel where practical.
Business energy (electricity):
We use a 100% renewable energy provider for our electricity at HQ and encourage staff to do likewise to minimise work from home emissions.
Business energy (heating):
We currently have to use Gas. Alternative energy sources will be deployed when possible.
Minimal water useage:
We actively promote water waste awareness, and our operations do not polute waste water.
Waste and recycling:
As a service business, we do not produce operational waste. Any waste that we do produce from day to working and living is recycled through local authority recycling schemes. We exhaust our IT equipment before it is processed through a licensed IT recycling partner. We have a company sewing machine which is available for staff use (to encourage clothing repairs).
Financial partners:
We currently bank with Monzo, who are one of the cleaner banks, and e-commerce payments are handled through the Stripe online payments solution.
Investment:
If we require business investment for growth, platform development or improved sustainability, we will not partner with any institution that holds a fossil fuel position.
Charity donations:
We have pledged to distribute 2% of revenue generated from Standard and Premium listing package sales to nominated charities
Year 1: 1st April 2026 to 1st April 2027
Our base year + year 1 results will enable our board of directors to approve a science based target to support our commitment to achieve net zero by 2030.
That's the summary so far, and when we have data to publish, we will be fully transparent, whatever our progress.
